Ogun CP Disburses N30.5M to families of fallen Police officers

Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has distributed a sun of ₦30,552,851.16 to families of police officers who died in the line of duty.

Ojajuni said that the gesture was made on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu to honour the officers who sacrificed their lives while performing their duties to the state and the nation.

He said that the force acknowledge the sacrifices of the fallen officers with the distribution of the funds as part of activities marking the National Police Week celebration.

Spokesperson of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed this to newmen yesterday in a statement made available to newmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.

He said “The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, on April 2, 2026, presented cheques to the families of fallen heroes.

“The gesture was aimed at honouring the sacrifices of officers who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, while also providing financial support and reassurance to their bereaved families.
“A total sum of ₦30,552,851.16 was disbursed to the beneficiaries.

The presentation underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of its personnel and the families they leave behind, reinforcing the enduring bond between the Force and its officers, both serving and fallen,” the statement read.

The command, however, emphasized that the gesture went a long way to show the force’s appreciation to the deceased officers for their sacrifices in protecting lives and property nationwide.
