NIMC Announces Successful Migration of Telecoms to NINAuth Verification Platform

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has confirmed the successful migration of telecommunications companies in Nigeria to its new National Identification Number (NIN) verification platform, NINAuth. The announcement was made by NIMC spokesperson Kayode Adegoke in a statement on Wednesday.

The migration enables telecom operators to provide uninterrupted NIN verification services to subscribers, ensuring seamless access to services such as new Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) registration, SIM swaps, SIM migration, and “Welcome Back” SIM services. NIMC advised NIN holders experiencing issues with these services to contact their telecom operators for prompt resolution.

NIMC highlighted that the NINAuth platform enhances data protection, empowers NIN holders with greater control over their personal data, and offers seamless verification and convenient sign-on access to services. “This achievement is a result of NIMC’s painstaking efforts to put the power to control NIN data in the hands of the holders,” the commission stated.
