The Nigerian Law School successfully hosted the First Term Body of Benchers Law Dinner for students of the 2025/2026 Academic Session from 21st to 23rd April, 2026. The event, provided aspirants with the opportunity to dine and interact closely with members of the Body of Benchers.
During the course of the dinners, speeches were delivered by distinguished members of the Body of Benchers, including the Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasukanmi Fagbemi, SAN, Life Bencher; Ibrahim Sani Mohammed , SAN, Life Bencher; and Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN. In their remarks, they congratulated the aspirants on reaching this critical stage of their legal training and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence.
The speakers emphasized that the journey to the pinnacle of the legal profession is often demanding, requiring patience, resilience, and unwavering commitment. They urged the aspirants to uphold good character and professional ethics, noting that integrity remains one of the most defining attributes of a successful legal practitioner.
Furthermore, the distinguished speakers reminded the aspirants that the legal profession offers vast opportunities for leadership and service. They noted that many of the aspirants would, in the future, occupy positions such as judges, justices, attorneys-general, ministers, and other key leadership roles in society. As such, they encouraged them to cultivate the values necessary to prepare for these responsibilities.
