A divided Florida Supreme Court has adopted a rule change that will now allow a party to seek immediate nonfinal appellate review of an orders pertaining to punitive damages.
The new rule amendment take effect April 1. It provides for the interlocutory appeal of nonfinal orders granting or denying leave to amend a complaint to assert a claim for punitive damages.
