As the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice, NBA SLP, convenes its 2026 Annual Conference, I extend my warmest goodwill to the leadership, distinguished speakers, and learned colleagues gathering at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.

The theme, “Evolving Trends: Nigerian Legal Practice, Global Perspectives,” is both timely and necessary. It calls on us to reflect on the future of our profession in a rapidly changing world shaped by technology, cross border transactions, shifting regulations, and higher expectations for ethical and efficient service.

At this pivotal moment, the Nigerian lawyer must not only adapt but lead. We must embrace innovation while upholding the values of integrity, excellence, and justice that define our profession. Conferences like this provide an important platform for meaningful dialogue and forward thinking solutions that will shape legal practice in Nigeria and beyond.

I commend NBA SLP for its commitment to professional development and thought leadership. Through engagements like this, we strengthen our Bar and position ourselves to better serve society.

As we deliberate, I encourage participants to engage boldly, think progressively, and focus on practical outcomes that will elevate the standard of practice in our country.

The future of the Nigerian Bar is one we must build together with vision, courage, and a firm commitment to justice.

I wish you all a successful and impactful conference.
