The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Y.C Maikyau, OON, SAN has set up remuneration committees for all branches.
According to an official statement released by the legal body, the committee is necessary in order to enforce the provisions of the Remuneration Order for the benefit of all members.

NBA PRESIDENT SETS UP REMUNERATION COMMITTEES FOR BRANCHES
Distinguished Colleagues,
As you may recall, the present NBA administration led by Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN in 2023, ensured the passage of the Legal Practitioners Remuneration (for Business, Legal Service and Representation) Order, 2023 which objective amongst others is to improve the standard of compensation for legal services.
In order to enforce the provisions of this Remuneration Order for the benefit of all members, the NBA President, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN has set up Remuneration Committees in all the branches of the NBA.
A series of workshops will soon be held to sensitize members of these committees and all other members of the NBA on the duties and operations of these committees.
