Mixed reactions have trailed the refusal of President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision on the assent of the electoral act amendment bill.
Recalled that the Nigeria National Assembly has ratified all proceedings of the bill in December, but needed the president’s assent to the bill which he declined.
The Nigerian Bar Association through its publicity secretary Dr. Rapulu Nduka has spoken on the matter and expressed it’s feelings over the decision of Mr. President’s refusal to sign the bill.

You may recall that the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association (“NBA”) at its recent meeting at Abeokuta, Ogun State, called on the President of Nigeria- Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) to assent to the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
However, the NBA and Nigerians at large, received with mixed feelings the decision of the president declining assent to the historic Bill on a number of grounds.
