NBA BAUCHI LAW WEEK 2026

It was a great honour to join the distinguished members of the NBA Bauchi Branch during their 2026 Law Week and the official launch of the second edition of the Bauchi Bar Journal.

The theme, “A Stand Out Legal Profession in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Codified Fair Legal Remuneration,” is not only timely but profoundly reflective of the realities confronting our profession today.

We are living in an era of technological renaissance where Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping legal practice, client expectations, and even the administration of justice itself. As legal practitioners, we must not resist change; rather, we must position ourselves to lead it—with competence, ethics, adaptability, and innovation.

At the same time, the call for fair legal remuneration remains both urgent and necessary. A profession that demands excellence, integrity, discipline, and sacrifice must also protect the dignity and welfare of its practitioners. We must continue to build a Bar where professionalism is rewarded, young lawyers are empowered, and every member is given a fair opportunity to thrive.

I commend the Chairman, the Executive Committee, and the entire members of the NBA Bauchi Branch for hosting such a remarkable, intellectually engaging, and memorable Law Week. Your warm reception, hospitality, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of the legal profession were truly outstanding.

Thank you, NBA Bauchi, for the love, the meaningful conversations, and the shared vision for a stronger and better Bar.

Together, we will continue to build a Nigerian Bar Association that is more inclusive, progressive, and fully prepared for the future.
