National Judicial Council Launches Investigation into Osun Chief Judge’s Alleged Misconduct

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has formed a committee to investigate multiple allegations of misconduct against the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Adepele Ojo. The accusations against Justice Ojo are serious, including claims of corruption, disobedience to court orders, abuse of office, and neglect of core judicial principles. These allegations have raised concerns about the integrity of the judiciary in the state.

The petition submitted to the NJC by the Concerned Citizens of Nigeria, Osun State chapter, further highlights the severity of these claims. The group alleges that Justice Ojo’s actions have violated the law and professional ethics, undermining the rule of law in the state.

Prior to the NJC’s involvement, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke had suspended Justice Ojo after a resolution by the State House of Assembly. However, the NJC found the suspension process flawed, leading to Justice Ojo’s reinstatement while the investigation into the allegations continues. The National Judicial Council (NJC) has formed a committee to investigate multiple allegations of misconduct against the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon.
