In an unprecedented event, the National Chairperson of the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF), Mrs Chinyere Okorocha, along with her National Secretary, Mrs Irene Ini Pepple, embarked on a historic visit to Bayelsa State Chapter, to attend their third annual law event, themed, Accelerating Growth: The Economic Dynamics of a Woman Lawyer in a Commercialised World
The State Lead, NBAWF Bayelsa Chapter, Dr Dise Ogbise Goddy Harry, along with members of her executive committee, pulled out the red carpet and threw a befitting welcome party, in honour of the August visitors. The three-day legal event included a novelty match between members of the Medical Women’s Association and the NBAWF Bayelsa Chapter, and an elaborate dinner event featuring a Magazine launch, an Award night, and cultural dances all with the crème de la crème of the legal community in the state in attendance.
In her Keynote address, Mrs Okorocha highlighted the need for mentorship, training and peer-to-peer networking amongst female lawyers, which will assist in confidence building and overcoming limiting beliefs that hold them back.
