The late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, had his Disc Jockey, Ajisegiri Ayobami, recount the events leading up to his demise during a coroner inquest in Ikorodu. Ayobami mentioned that MohBad started vomiting after receiving an injection administered by a nurse. The singer even vomited noodles that his brother, Adura Aloba, had prepared for him.
According to the witness, the incident occurred following a show in Ikorodu on the previous day. On their way back, their Prado Jeep was blocked, and MohBad got into a confrontation with his friend, Primeboy, which led to him sustaining an injury.
Ayobami explained that the injury was initially a small cut on MohBad’s hand, but it had swollen by the time they returned home at midnight. They attempted to contact MohBad’s personal nurse, who was unavailable, so one of their team members called Spending, who had a nurse. This nurse administered an injection to MohBad.
Strangely, Ayobami noted that MohBad was in good health before the nurse arrived, but he fell asleep shortly after receiving the injection. He mentioned that there was water on the floor in MohBad’s room, and he went to get a mop to clean it when his wife urgently called him from upstairs.
The witness said when he got there, he saw that Mohbad had collapsed on the floor and vomited the Indomie Noodles that he had eaten, and goosebumps were on his body.
He said, “The nurse said we should go and get him drugs; while we were at the pharmacy, I called the house to know how he was feeling, and they said I should come back.
“When I got back, they were already outside trying to put him in a neighbour’s car to get him to the hospital, but the way I saw him, he was lifeless, his eyes were closed, and his hands were falling.
“While we were going to the hospital, there was traffic, so I came down from the other vehicle and ran to the hospital; I asked them if they had an ambulance, and they said no. Before I could get back to them, I saw them bringing Mohbad on a bike, and when we got to the hospital he was confirmed dead,” the witness said.
