President Bola Tinubu is set to meet with the leaders of the Organised Labour on Thursday in a last minute decision.
The President will hold discussions with labour leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, focusing on the new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
Initiated by the President, the meeting will include representatives from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
The Nigerian Government and organised labour have been in conflict over the new minimum wage proposal. Labour is advocating for a minimum wage of N250,000, while the government has suggested N60,000.
The proposed meeting will come about a month after the President promised to send an Executive Bill to the National Assembly on the minimum wage.
Tinubu made the promise during his Democracy Day speech on June 12, 2024.
