The chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede says Neighboring countries are supporting Nigeria to ensure that emerging Lukrawa Terrorists are taken out of the borders. General Oluyede was responding to questions from state house correspondents after a meeting the president Tinubu at the State House Abuja on Monday.
He said negative impacts of the new insurgents affect all the Neighbouring countries- a reason government needs to get in touch with them for a synergy on how to tackle the insurgents.
The Army said the Nigerian military and those of the neighboring countries have been hitting the new terrorists harder- meaning that they will fizzle out in no distance time.
The new Army chief said he was in the villa to brief the president on the progress of the theatre of operations across the country. Oluyede who just returned from a tour of the operations said he admonished his troops on commitment and better ways to come out victorious in the fight against insecurity.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu appointed General Oluyede as acting COAS on October 30 following the illness of his predecessor, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, who passed away on November 5. Shortly after Lagbaja’s demise, Oluyede was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-general and made the substantive Army chief after confirmation by the National Assembly.
