Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) hinted he may veto a medical cannabis bill that lawmakers have been negotiating to replace the overturned voter-approved ballot measure unless there’s a sharp reduction in the amount of marijuana that patients can purchase.
New Hampshire lawmakers have already pre-filed at least six marijuana legalization bills for the 2022 session—including one from Republican House leaders and others that would put cannabis on the ballot for voters to decide.
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) announced he has granted pardons to 30 people, most for marijuana and other drug offenses. He has now issued more pardons in his first three years in office than any governor in the state’s recent history.
Illinois Department of Revenue data shows the state has collected nearly $100 million more in tax revenue from adult-use marijuana sales than from alcohol so far in 2021, and cannabis totals have exceeded those for liquor in every single month since February.

An Indiana Republican representative who serves in House leadership says she will be introducing a marijuana legalization bill for the 2022 session.
Marijuana Moment obtained a full slide presentation on the Taliban-approved plan to grow cannabis in Afghanistan, but the company involved—CPharm of Germany—says the whole thing is contingent on international recognition of the new regime.
A new study found that more than one-third of software developers “regularly use cannabis while programming”—with many saying that it helps promote creativity and get them into the “programming zone.” Others say it helps to “mitigate programming-related pain.”
