Hansatu Adegbite has built an outstanding career driving initiatives that create measurable social impact. With extensive experience in building strategic alliances and leading transformational programs, she has played an influential role in advancing gender equity and economic empowerment for women across Nigeria and beyond.
She currently serves as the National Consultant on Private Sector Partnerships with UN Women and is the immediate past Executive Director of Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), one of Nigeria’s most influential organizations dedicated to promoting women’s leadership and professional advancement.
Hansatu’s expertise in leadership development and gender advocacy has positioned her as a key contributor to national and international development initiatives. Over the years, she has served on two Nigerian Presidential Committees, sits on ten boards, and has chaired four of them, demonstrating her commitment to governance, policy development, and institutional strengthening.
An accomplished academic and leadership development advocate, Hansatu is a graduate of Harvard Business School, Business School Netherlands, and the University of Abuja, where she studied Business Administration. She also serves as a faculty member and trainer in Gender Studies at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) and the Policy Innovation Center, where she contributes to shaping the next generation of policy and development leaders.
Her influence extends across several prominent organizations. She serves as a National Steering Council Member of the Presidential High-Level Advisory Council for Women and Girls in Nigeria, a member of the African Women Leaders Network, and holds advisory and board roles in several institutions including CARE Nigeria, the Nigerian Women Trust Fund, Women’s Radio, the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, and the Business School Netherlands International Advisory Board.
In recognition of her impactful work and dedication to women’s advancement, Hansatu has received several prestigious honors, including the Award of Excellence by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and the Woman of the Year Award by the Voice of Women Empowerment Foundation.
Beyond her professional achievements, Hansatu is deeply committed to mentorship and leadership development, supporting emerging leaders and advocating for inclusive systems that enable women to thrive.
