Meet Our Speaker: Amaka Chika-Mbonu — The Phenomenal Woman Conference 2.0

The Phenomenal Woman Conference 2.0 is pleased to feature Amaka Chika-Mbonu, a respected counsellor, author, and thought leader whose work explores the intersection of faith, relationships, psychology, and leadership.

With over twenty-five years of experience in marriage counselling, Amaka has dedicated her life’s work to helping individuals and couples build healthier, more honest relationships. Her approach combines CBT-informed counselling, faith-based wisdom, and deep psychological insight, allowing her to address the emotional realities many people experience but often struggle to articulate within romantic relationships.

Amaka is the author of several influential books that challenge readers to confront the cost of avoidance in relationships and to embrace responsibility, personal growth, and emotional maturity. Her writing is widely recognized for its ability to blend faith, clarity, and powerful storytelling, encouraging individuals to build relationships grounded in truth, resilience, and intentional commitment.

Beyond her writing, Amaka has founded several impactful relationship-focused initiatives. These include Amaka’s Book Club, as well as “What to Do Before I Do,” a radically honest self-paced online premarital course designed to help couples prepare for covenant, not just chemistry. Through these platforms, along with her private premarital and marriage counselling practice, she continues to equip individuals and couples with practical tools for building lasting and meaningful partnerships.

Today, Amaka divides her time between private counselling practice, writing, and speaking engagements, where she continues to shape conversations around marriage preparation, relational health, and thriving; not merely surviving in marriage.

Having been married for thirty-three years and raising two adult children, Amaka brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the work she does.

At The Phenomenal Woman Conference 2.0, Amaka Chika-Mbonu will share her insights on relationships, personal growth, and the courage required to build lives that are not only functional but honest, resilient, and whole.

Her story and perspective beautifully reflect the spirit of this year’s theme: The Power of Her Voice: Influence, Impact, Inspire.
