There’re massive joy and celebration in Oguta Ameshi in Oguta LGA, Umukam Otulu Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA and Okpaku Umunnoche in Ikeduru LGA as NDDC flag off operation light up Niger Delta region in their communities.
Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu in his commitment for ensuring that that the 647 autonomous communities in Imo State get light up within this shortest period of time.
On the other hand, the Imo State Director, Sir Kelechi Nwelue called on the benefitting communities to ensure that the solar facilities are well protected against theft and vandalism as that will encourage the commission to site more projects to their areas. He informed them that any theft or vandalism of the facilities will warrant the commission to discontinued and relocate the project to more desiring community. He also admonished the contractors not to cut corners in the course of executing the contract as that will be counterproductive.
The Federal Commissioner, Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu informed the communities to continue to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving this light up project in the Niger Delta region which they’re assiduously benefitting today.
He leveraged the opportunity to inform other communities who are yet to benefit that gradually this gesture will get to them as everything is in the pipeline.
Furthermore, Hon Dr Uchegbu informed the communities in Ohaji Egbema Oguta and Oru East who have not benefitted from this light up project that the plan is on top gear to ensure that all the roads and streets are illuminated in the shortest period of time.
Finally, he charged the project contractors to exhibit quality job and in accordance with the BEME specifications as anything short of that will clogged the wheel on their payment.
The highlight of the occasion was the official handover of the project and the group photograph among the commission, benefitting communities and the project contractors.
