The attention of the NBA President, Mr Yakubu Maikyau, OON, SAN has been drawn to the story making rounds on social media about the unfortunate comments said to have been made by Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, KSG, Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development on 15 October 2022 in reference to the Judgement of the Federal High Court in Suit No. PHC/Y/CS/12/2022 between Mallam Nuhu Ribadu V. All Progressives Congress & 2 Ors, delivered on 14 October 2022 where the Court held that the APC Governorship Primary Election of Adamawa State which took place on 26 May 2022 was invalid having been conducted in violation of the Electoral Act 2022 and the APC Constitution and Guidelines.

The Court voided the return of the 2nd Defendant, Senator Aishatu Dairu Ahmed as the winner of the primary election and in addition refused the prayer for fresh primaries.

It was reported that while speaking with Journalists on the sidelines of the global reunion at the Annual General Meeting of her Alma Mater, Federal Government Girl’s College Bida, the said Minister referred to the judgement of the Federal High Court as a “kangaroo judgement” amongst other degrading comments.

Equally, the Minister went on to give what she considered to be the justification for her remarks, which was disrespectful and contemptuous to the court.

In this circumstance, the President demanded that the Minister withdraws such degrading comment and tenders an unreserved apology to the Court.

The President also demanded that the said apology should be given equal publicity as the degrading and contemptuous remark on the judgement.
