Mabel Okereke, Secretary of the NBA Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA-ICLE) and a distinguished lawyer specialising in dispute resolution and corporate law, has publicly endorsed Tobenna Erojikwe for the position of NBA President.
Okereke, who has worked closely with Erojikwe, recounted her first impression: “When I met Tobenna Erojikwe, his convictions, passion, and drive to effect a change in the legal profession swayed me into active service with him in the Premier Bar.”
She detailed Erojikwe’s significant contributions to the NBA, particularly in the area of continuing legal education:
“He midwifed the knowledge sharing sessions for the Lagos Branch’s monthly meetings, the mentoring sessions tagged: ‘An Evening with …’ renowned, seasoned, and accomplished Senior Lawyers, and the numerous virtual and physical continuing legal education trainings that were utilised by thousands of Nigerian lawyers at Zero cost to them.”
Okereke emphasized the far-reaching impact of Erojikwe’s initiatives: “The CLE project he started within the Lagos Branch after 4 years spread across the other Branches of the NBA when he became the Chair, NBA Institute of Continuing Legal Education. The positive impacts of his reforms are undeniable in our profession.”
Drawing from her personal experience working alongside Erojikwe, Okereke expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on his campaign promises: “Having been a part of that success story, it is clear in mind that Tobenna as President of the NBA, will work relentlessly hard to actualize promises made in his Manifesto.”
