Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya is a Partner at Africa Law Practice NG & Co (ALP NG & Co.) and Co-Head of its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. A barrister and ADR specialist with expertise in domestic and international arbitration, she represents private, corporate, and state clients in trial and appellate courts across Nigeria.
She began her legal career at Olaniwun Ajayi LP and served as Senior Special Assistant on Justice Sector Reform (2007–2011) and later General Counsel to the Governor of Lagos State (2011–2015). In these roles, she led key justice reform initiatives, including improving access to legal aid and enhancing prisoner transport conditions, while fostering strong collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Notably, this included support for the annual Law Weeks and other programmes of the five Lagos State Branches for eight years running, and the Annual General Conference held in Lagos in 2011.
Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya is an active member of the NBA, having held several roles including Assistant Secretary NBA Lagos Branch (2005–2007), during which time she was a delegate to the 2006 NBA elections; Member, NBA Lagos Branch Bar Centre Building Committee (2011- 2015; 2017-2021; 2024-Date) Member, TCCP in the A.B. Mahmoud, SAN and Paul Usoro, SAN administrations respectively; two-time Chair of the NBA Lagos Branch Dinner Committee; (2021 & 2022), Member, Future of the Legal Profession Committee (2021) in the Olu Akpata administration, Member, Conference Investigation Committee (2022-23) and Alternate Chair and Chair respectively of the AGCPC in 2023 and 2024 in the Y.C. Maikyau, SAN administration. She is also a two-time coopted member of NEC from 2022 to date.
A bold and passionate advocate for the underserved, she regularly provides pro bono representation and is currently championing the right to legal representation by senior advocates at all court levels. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), an Accredited CEDR Mediator, and a member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) FIDA, IBA, ICCA, CLA, Arbitral Women, and a Life Member of AWLA. She has served on the Executive Committee of CIArb (Nigeria Branch); chaired three consecutive CIArb Annual Conference Planning Committees (2014 – 2016) and sits on the board of the Lagos Court of Arbitration.
