Prof. Olafuyi Olalekan holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, both earned at the University of Ibadan. He further pursued his academic career by obtaining a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia. His areas of specialization include Special Core Analysis, Enhanced Oil Recovery, PVT Analysis, and Corrosion and Environmental Impact assessment.
Currently, he serves as a Professor at the University of Benin, where he has accumulated more than fifteen years of teaching experience. Throughout his career, he has conducted various short courses in Nigeria and internationally. As a registered Engineer with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Olafuyi actively engages in the professional community.
Within the SPE, he has enthusiastically volunteered in different roles, such as being a part of the member Technical Paper Committee and serving as a Judge for the SPE International Technical Paper Contest. Presently, he holds the position of Programs Chairman for the Benin City Section, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to contributing to the field of Petroleum Engineering
