Nigeria’s sports industry is growing, but turning talent into a sustainable industry requires more than talent. It requires the right commercial structures, strategic investment, policy, data and legal frameworks.
𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘀 is the Managing Partner and Advisory Lead at DMPartners, where he leads the Sports Business Advisory Practice. With over 15 years of experience across the creative and cultural industries, he brings extensive expertise in sports business, operations, business development, stakeholder management, market and industry analysis, public private partnerships and commercial strategy.
He previously served as Coordinating Secretary at Sport Nigeria Ltd/GTE, contributing to initiatives aimed at developing Nigeria’s sports market and value chain. He has also been actively involved in research, policy development and industry initiatives, including work connected to the 2022–2026 National Sports Industry Policy.
A graduate of Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Ilorin, Telema has contributed to several sports research and development projects covering women and sports, sports consumption, esports, data in sports and the broader business of sport. He continues to contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s sports and creative economy through consulting, research, policy engagement and strategic advisory.
