LBC 2025: Meet The Convener – Ifeoma Ben, LLM, MBA

Ifeoma Ben is a Law Professional with experience in presenting and delivering solutions and services in the legal field. She is a Founding Partner at The Law Suite, a full-service Law Firm and heads the Telecommunications, Media and Technology Practice of the Firm. She holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Lagos, alongside a Masters in Business Administration from Nexford University, Washington D.C. USA, with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence, graduating with a Distinction. She is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, an Associate of the the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners of Nigeria, a graduate both of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, as well as a Graduate of Justice Entrepreneurship School.

A member of Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria, Ifeoma has advised a number of Blockchain and Fintech Companies on legal compliance and corporate governance and sits on the Board of some technology companies. She also advises companies in the Entertainment Industry and works with Record Labels in protecting and monetizing their intellectual property rights and negotiating entertainment deals. She is currently advising on  major Movie projects by a leading Media Company in Nigeria and also advising a top-tier technology company on technology infrastructure projects for Cross River State Government. She is a Non-Executive Director at Lawhauz Media Ltd and Editor-in-Chief of Lawhauz Magazine. She advises several Startups and Entrepreneurs on business development, startup funding, and legal compliance. She has been recognized by International Organisations and received Awards for the impact she makes in the business world. She was on Spotlight on the Guardian Newspaper as the Guardian Woman of the Week on August 29, 2020, in recognition of the great work she does for Startups and Entrepreneurs. She was also featured by The Sun Newspaper as “Woman of the Sun” in recognition of her campaign for women and children’s rights. A Forty Under Forty ESQ Award Finalist, Ifeoma was recognised as one of 100 outstanding Nigerian Lawyers by Legal Eagles Initiative in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

Ifeoma holds key leadership positions within various professional organizations, underscoring her commitment to advancing the legal profession and empowering fellow practitioners. As the immediate past Head of the Fundraising Committee at the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (2022-2024) and Head of Training at the African Women Lawyers Association (Nigeria), she champions initiatives for gender equality and professional development. Furthermore, Ifeoma’s multifaceted leadership is exemplified by her role as the Chairperson of the Professional Development Committee at the National Association of Catholic Lawyers (Lagos Archdiocese) and Secretary of the Technology Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law. In these capacities, she orchestrates initiatives aimed at enhancing professional growth, fostering innovation, and navigating the evolving landscape of legal technology. She served as the Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos branch (2019-2021) and has worked in several committees of the branch.

Moreover, Ifeoma’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident through her role as the Founder of Legal Business Network and the Convener of the Legal Business Conference. Through these platforms, she fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and business innovation, empowering legal professionals to navigate the intersection of law and entrepreneurship with confidence and success.
