Lawhauz to Host Crucial X Space Discussion on Extrajudicial Killings, Demands Conversation on Justice and Accountability in Nigeria

Far too often, we hear stories of individuals taken into custody, only for their families to receive the devastating news of their death without a trial, without a conviction, and without justice.

Extrajudicial killings remain one of the most troubling human rights concerns in Nigeria. While the law guarantees the right to life, questions continue to arise about accountability, due process, and the protection of fundamental rights.

On 12 June 2026, Lawhauz will host a live X Space discussion, Shot Before Trial, to examine the legal implications of extrajudicial killings and the realities surrounding their occurrence in Nigeria.

Joining the conversation are Ifeoma Ben, Founder of Lawhauz Media; Wayne Chikezie Elijah, Partner at WCE & Co. Chambers; and Stanley Alieke, Managing Partner at Law Capitol. The session will be moderated by Elizabeth Eze, Operations Officer at Lawhauz.

What does the law say? What remedies exist? And how can accountability be strengthened?

Join us for an insightful and timely conversation.
