The call for a forward-thinking Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has once again been amplified by Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, who emphasized the need for the Association to be intentional about members’ welfare and responsive to emerging global trends. According to him, the NBA must evolve into a body that not only safeguards the interests of its members but also embraces digitization, artificial intelligence, and innovation for the collective benefit of the profession.
Akangbe noted that while the future may be uncertain, the NBA must be proactive, adaptive, and resilient in shaping the destiny of its members. He stressed that the Association should not merely prepare for tomorrow but actively create it today, ensuring that it operates at its optimum for the greater good of the legal community.
