Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, has been announced as a guest speaker at the upcoming NBA-YLF Onitsha Knowledge Series, where he will deliver insights on the topic: Bridging the Gap – Career Development and the Future of Young Lawyers in Nigeria.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the event, Akangbe emphasized the importance of mentorship, structured career growth, and strong professional networks in shaping the future of young lawyers. Drawing from Igbo culture, he noted that just as “it takes a village to raise a child,” young lawyers require guidance, opportunities, and a supportive legal community to thrive.
He highlighted that while Igba mbo (hard work) and Uche (wisdom/will) are essential, they must be complemented by access to resources and strategic career advancement. He stressed the need for intentional mentorship and knowledge-sharing to help young lawyers navigate the evolving legal landscape.
Akangbe looks forward to engaging in this crucial discussion with aspiring legal professionals who are shaping the future of the profession.
