Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN to Speak at 7th Justice Aderemi Annual Lecture on Federalism and Power Dynamics

Renowned legal practitioner and former Chairman of the NBA Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe SAN, FCIArb (UK), will join a distinguished panel of speakers at the 7th Justice Aderemi Annual Lecture, scheduled to hold on July 11, 2025, at the Aare Afe Babalola Bar Center in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Themed “The Politics of Federalism: Power Dynamics Among the Tiers of Government,” the event will delve into the evolving nature of Nigeria’s federal structure and the implications for governance and constitutional development.

The lecture will be headlined by Afam Osigwe, SAN, President of the Nigerian Bar Association, and will feature other eminent speakers including Ms. Yemi Adamolekun of Enough-Is-Enough Nigeria, Hon. Justice (Prof) Alero Akeredolu, Aare Isiaka Olagunju, SAN, and Yemi Akangbe, SAN. Their collective insights are expected to spark robust discourse on the challenges and prospects of true federalism in Nigeria.

Chairing the panel session will be leading constitutional scholar and former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo, SAN.

The Justice Aderemi Annual Lecture, now in its seventh edition, continues to serve as a premier platform for deep legal reflections and policy dialogue in honour of the late Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi.
