Lagos State Judiciary Announces 2025/2026 Legal Year Programme

The Lagos State Judiciary, under the leadership of the Honourable Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Kareem Olanrewaju Alogba, has formally released its programme of activities marking the commencement of the 2025/2026 Legal Year.

According to the official announcement, the ceremonies will commence with Thanksgiving Services on Monday, 22 September 2025, at 10:00 a.m., to be held simultaneously at the Central Mosque, Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, Lagos, and the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos.

These inter‑faith services are intended to usher in the legal year with prayers, thanksgiving, and supplication for divine guidance in the judiciary’s execution of its constitutional mandate.

As part of the commemorative activities, the Judiciary will host the 2025/2026 Legal Year Summit on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at The Shell Zenith Bank Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The summit will serve as a forum for in‑depth engagement among judges, legal practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders on contemporary and emerging issues affecting the administration of justice in Lagos State and across Nigeria.

In its statement, the Lagos State Judiciary reaffirmed that the annual event underscores its commitment to upholding the rule of law, promoting access to justice, and maintaining Lagos State’s pre‑eminent standing as a model of judicial excellence. Members of the public, the Bar, and invited stakeholders are encouraged to participate actively in the scheduled events.
