The Federal Government and the organized labour have settled for seventy thousand Naira as minimum wage for the Nigerian workers.
Addressing Journalists after the brief meeting which held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa Abuja, Thursday both the labour and govt representatives hailed the decision describing it as a new dawn for the workers.
The officials say the president did not however stop at increasing the workers’ wages but also promised to ensure that CNG buses are rolled out to continue the cushioning of the removal of the oil subsidy.
On the students loan which was flagged off on Wednesday, the official quoted the President as saying that the funds must get the targeted students who need it for their education. Recall that both parties met last week Thursday but could not agree on a specific amount to pay the workers.
Yesterday’s agreement however, will rest the long battle between the organized labour and the federal govt over payable amount as minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
The meeting also agreed that important clauses of the agreement will be collated and sent to the National Assembly as minimum wage bill for onward passage.
