The Government of Kogi State has formally announced the death of Justice Yahaya Adamu of the Kogi State High Court.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, described the late jurist as a distinguished pillar of the judiciary, widely respected for his integrity, commitment to justice, and adherence to the rule of law.
Fanwo noted that Justice Adamu’s contributions to the administration of justice in Kogi State earned him admiration across the legal community and beyond. He added that despite concerted efforts to provide medical care during his illness, his passing remains a profound loss to his family, the judiciary, and the state.
Governor Usman Ododo paid tribute to the late judge, describing him as “a reputable voice in the temple of justice,” whose wisdom, experience, and dedication to fairness will be deeply missed. The governor emphasized that Justice Adamu’s legacy of service will continue to inspire future generations within the legal profession.
On behalf of the government and people of Kogi State, condolences were extended to his immediate family, the judiciary, and all who were touched by his exemplary life. The statement concluded with prayers for the repose of his soul and comfort for those who mourn.
