Katsina Gets New Police AIG Amid Rising Insecurity

Umar Nadada has officially assumed duty as the 8th Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 14 Headquarters, Katsina, Katsina State.

The AIG took over the zone’s mantle of leadership yesterday and he expected to bring to “table” his wealth of experience in crime prevention and the promotion of public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

The Zone 14 Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Umar Muhammad, made this known in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday.

The statement described Nadada as a seasoned police officer who had served in various operational, investigative and administrative capacities across the country, hence contributing to internal security and police reforms.

“The new AIG hails from the Rano Local Government Area of Kano State.

“He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology from Bayero University, Kano, obtained in 1989, and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, earned in 2010.

“He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and underwent professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Annex, Kaduna”, the statement added.
