The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Benue State has officially suspended its indefinite strike, which had been ongoing since December 2024. The suspension was announced in a memo signed by JUSUN Chairman, Mr. Terlumun Aba, on Tuesday in Makurdi, addressed to the state’s High Court Chief Registrar, Ministry of Justice directors, and judiciary personnel.
The strike, initiated due to the state’s failure to implement the new minimum wage, was a response to the government’s approval of a N75,000 wage increase in the final quarter of 2024, which JUSUN had rejected. However, after positive developments from the Benue State Government, the national headquarters of JUSUN approved the suspension of the strike.
Chairman Comrade Aba directed all judiciary staff to halt any further strike actions and return to work by Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The union expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all staff during the strike period.
