The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on Monday decorated 12 senior officers with the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and 16 Deputy Commissioners with the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP).
While addressing the newly promoted officers and guests, Egbetokun described the promotions as a recognition of merit, dedication, and leadership.
He noted that the process was based on fairness and transparency, in line with the administration’s commitment to institutional growth.
He urged the newly promoted officers to lead with discipline, empathy, and integrity, emphasizing that the new ranks come with greater responsibility and public scrutiny.
The IGP also reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to officer welfare, innovation, and collaboration with sister agencies and communities.
Giving the vote of thanks on behalf of the newly promoted officers, AIG Emmanuel Ade Aina expressed deep appreciation to the IGP for recommending them to the Police Service Commission (PSC), and to the PSC for finding them worthy of the elevation.
The event was attended by family members, police officials,, and other dignitaries.
