IGP Egbetokun Decries High Level of Unprofessional Conducts Among Personnel

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has lamented the rising cases of indiscipline, high-handedness and unprofessional conducts among some police Personnel in Nigeria. Egbetokun, while addressing AC X Squad Commanders and others at the Force Headquarters in Abuja emphasized the need for adherence to the discipline and core value of the Nigeria Police Force by all standards.

The Police Boss informed the officers that the Nigeria Police Force cannot maintained its professional status and pivotal roles in the country’s internal security, without the dedication and commitment of the officers in their respective offices.

He maintained that one of the core mandate of this administration is to bridge the trust deficit between the government and the public adding that, Over the years, it has been discovered that the conduct of some officers have deviate form the expectations of the force leadership.

Egbetokun lamented that Officers, who are suppose to uphold the value of integrity upon which the society placed higher moral expectations, are frequently seen breaching the trust place in them by the public. The Inspector General of Police hereby directed officers to ensure prompt dispensation of Justice and implement measures to curb excessiveness, high handedness, unprofessionalism and other vices among police personnel across the country.
