The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has Commissioned 59 armoured Toyota Hilux for Logistics for Officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force saying it was a direct message to those who challenge law and order in Nigeria.
He said the new assets provide the Force with stronger tools to match determination with capability, ensuring that criminal groups no longer enjoy the advantage of mobility or surprise.
Commissioning the vehicles in Abuja, Egbetokun noted that the vehicles, are expected to carry officers into contested spaces and return them with results.
The IGP added that the commissioning forms part of a broader reform agenda aimed at strengthening police operations, enhancing intelligence gathering, improving training, and enforcing accountability.
