IBA/FCCPC TO HOST LAW CONFERENCE IN AFRICA

The International Bar Association (IBA) Antitrust Committee, the IBA African Regional Forum and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is hosting a conference in Africa themed: “IBA/FCCPC Competition Law in Africa Conference: Regulatory Developments and Enforcement Trends Across the Continent”. The Conference will have participants from across the globe, and will discuss emerging issues in competition law in Africa. The Conference will centre on current trends affecting the industry, with such topics as:

• The Nigerian Competition Act
• The consumer welfare standard
• Economic evidence in competition law cases
• The interplay between competition policy and trade law
• Cartel conduct- bid rigging and cross-border cartels, etc.

The said Conference, which will be held in Lagos, Nigeria on 24 – 25 November 2022 is the first-in-person conference the IBA will be hosting in Africa since the Covid-19 pandemic and will be graced by the IBA President, Mr. Sternford Moyo in person.
