Five agitators from the Yoruba Nation have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for reportedly breaking into and taking control of an Ibadan government-owned radio station.

Adebowale Williams, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, claimed that the assailants forcedly hijacked the aforementioned broadcast station, Amuludun 99.1 FM, with the intention of announcing their release from the Federal Republic of Nigeria when they were being paraded in Ibadan.

He said that by acting quickly, the Oyo Police Command’s personnel were able to take charge of the situation and make the intruders into custody.

While declaring the act as criminal, unpatriotic and a clear case of terrorism which would be meted with adequate sanctions under the laws of the land, the CP assured residents of the State that investigations are ongoing to demystify those others who are involved in the act.
