Hardship: Why Nigerians should go into farming — Oluremi Tinubu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has encouraged citizens to take a keen interest in agricultural production by actively participating in the sector. She emphasized that agriculture remains a vital pathway to improving the livelihoods of citizens, especially during the prevailing challenges across the nation.

Mrs. Tinubu, the wife of the President, expressed confidence in the decisions made by the Commander in Chief, noting that they are aimed at building a Nigeria that commands greater respect in the long term. She also urged Nigerians to prioritize accountability in the management of resources.

These remarks were made during her meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, at her office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The First Lady highlighted the various interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative, particularly in agriculture, empowerment, education, health, and social welfare, which are designed to complement the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. This underscores the commitment of the administration to addressing key socio-economic challenges and enhancing the well-being of Nigerians.

“The President has made the right decisions. These decisions will help us build a Nigeria that is more respected. We should be more accountable as a people as regards our resources”

She further said there is a need to inspire the youth to think appropriately about the nation

“We have to inspire them to think Nigeria first before any State.”
