The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, presented the ₦4.237 trillion 2026 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly for approval.
Sanwo-Olu, who christened the appropriation bill as “Budget of Sustainability,” said it was designed as a roadmap for continuity, resilience, and shared prosperity for the people of the state.
According to him, the budget was structured around five key pillars, including infrastructure sustainability, economic diversification, and institutional reforms.
The budget presentation was witnessed by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, the Deputy Governor, Femi Hamzat, members of the state executive council, lawmakers, and other dignitaries.
The Lagos State budget has increased steadily from N1.75 trillion in 2022 to N4.23 trillion for 2026.
The state’s budget for the outgoing year was N3.36 trillion.
