Former Oyo Governor, Ladoja Drags Makinde, Olubadan, Others To Court Over Chieftaincy Matter

Former governor of Oyo State, Rasidi Ladoja, has filed a lawsuit against Governor Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, and the High Chiefs of Ibadan who were recently elevated to the status of Kings.

The legal action comes in response to the recent amendment of the Chiefs Law by the state House of Assembly. On Friday, the Olubadan conferred the title of Obas on ten High Chiefs in Ibadan, although Ladoja distanced himself from the promotion.

Ladoja had previously stated that his interest lay solely in the Olubadan crown and not in any other titles. He filed the lawsuit at the Oyo State High Court, challenging the actions of Governor Makinde, the Olubadan, and the elevated High Chiefs.

Details of the suit are contained in court papers below;
