The Finnish Government on Sunday released two of the suspects arrested alongside the self-styled Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in-Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa.
Ekpa was arrested by Finnish security agents on November 21, 2024, along with four others for alleged terror-related activities in Nigeria.
He was subsequently sent to prison by the district court of Päijät-Häme for allegedly spreading terrorist propaganda on social media.
The five men have been in prison since November 2024.
However, it has not been ascertained why the two suspects were released while Ekpa is still in custody.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, said late last year Nigeria had requested for Ekpa’s extradition.
He said the requirements for the extradition of the secessionist agitator had been forwarded to the Finnish Government.
“Legal action is going to be taken accordingly. The Federal Government has actually forwarded most of the requirements to the Finnish Government. So, I’m sure the right thing will be done,” he said.
Ekpa has been fingered in the series of violence recorded during attempts to enforce the sit-at-home order in the South-East.
