FG Orders Probe Into Lagos Train/Bus Accident

Senator Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, has stated that the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) will launch a prompt investigation into the Thursday morning collision between a passenger train and a bus transporting some civil officials to their workplaces in Lagos.

According to Sirika, the NSIB will investigate the immediate and remote causes of the accident and recommend strategies to avoid similar incidents in the future.

Sirika, in a statement posted by his Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. James Odaudu, requested the public’s cooperation as the NSIB team begins its probe.

The Minister also commiserated with the government and people of Lagos State, especially those who have lost their loved ones, and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the accident.
