The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 82 suspects in 49 cases between May 1st and June 30th, 2025. Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ajao Adewale disclosed this during a press briefing where he presented the Command’s operational scorecard for May and June.
He noted that the achievements align with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, following strategic crime-mapping, hotspot identification, and an actionable crime-prevention plan. Highlights from the period include 7 kidnapping cases with 17 suspects arrested and 3 neutralized, 5 foiled kidnapping attempts in areas such as Apo Waru, Karshi, and Bwari, and 5 foiled robbery incidents in Apo and Kubwa leading to 6 arrests, among others.
The Commissioner further reported the rescue of 3 trafficked children, 8 abandoned babies, and 10 rape victims. Recovered items included 3 AK-47 rifles, a barreta pistol, a pump-action shotgun, 2 LAR rifles, ammunition, and other exhibits such as vehicles, cash, phones, and sharp weapons.
