”Every Nigerian has right to safety’,President Tinubu Pledges Tougher Security, Confirms Rescue of Abductees

President Bola Tinubu has unequivocally reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating insecurity across the country, declaring that safety is a fundamental right of every citizen and that no Nigerian should be made to live in fear.

The President, who recently canceled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate the national security response following a spate of high-profile abductions, stressed that his government would not relent in confronting criminality in any part of the nation.

In a statement posted on his official X handle on Sunday, President Tinubu issued a direct pledge to the citizens: “Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he said.

The President also announced significant breakthroughs in recent rescue operations, confirming the freedom of worshippers abducted in Kwara and the recovery of students taken in Niger State.

“Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued. I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State have been recovered,” he stated.

Tinubu added that he has been monitoring the security situation nationwide “closely and consistently,” receiving continuous updates from the frontline. His remarks come as Nigerians demand firmer, faster government action to curb the rising cases of kidnappings and armed attacks across multiple regions.
