Veteran Nollywood actress and pastor, Eucharia Anunobi, has petitioned the Nigerian Police Force and relevant U.S. authorities against Apostle Psalm Okpe, founder of Fresh Oil Ministry International Church, over an audio recording in which the cleric allegedly claimed to have maintained a five‑year sexual relationship with her. Anunobi, who has dismissed the allegations as false and defamatory, insists the claims were calculated to damage her reputation and ministry, and has instructed her lawyers to pursue formal legal redress.
The recording, which recently surfaced online, purportedly captured a phone conversation between Apostle Okpe and Pastor Martin. In the audio, Okpe allegedly stated that he dated and had sexual relations with Anunobi for over five years.
Anunobi, in response via Instagram videos, categorically denied the claims, describing them as false, defamatory, and injurious to her integrity and ministerial calling. Anunobi disclosed that her lawyers have been instructed to commence formal action against Okpe.
According to Anunobi, petitions are being prepared for submission to the Nigerian Police Force and relevant U.S. security and immigration authorities, with the aim of compelling Okpe to substantiate his claims before the law.
She has further alleged that Okpe has, over the years, threatened to destroy her ministry and reputation.
Anunobi raised concerns about her personal safety, warning that Okpe should be held accountable for any harm to her, her family, or her property, whether in Nigeria or abroad.
She emphasized that the allegations have caused her emotional distress and were deliberately intended to damage her standing as a minister.
Addressing the substance of the allegations, Anunobi insisted that she has remained celibate since her ordination nearly 14 years ago, and expressed willingness to undergo medical examination to support her claim.
She acknowledged Okpe’s role in her early ministerial journey but stated that she disengaged from his ministry in 2015 after observing practices she considered unethical.
She alleged that Okpe continued to misrepresent her as affiliated with his ministry even after her departure, thereby misleading followers and the public.
She rejected any suggestion of a romantic relationship, asserting that such claims existed only in Okpe’s imagination.
Anunobi maintained that financial records would demonstrate she supported Okpe’s ministry rather than derived any personal benefit.
She noted that while she has been courted and engaged on several occasions since entering ministry, none of those relationships involved sexual intimacy.
She described the allegations as part of a broader pattern of attempts on social media to discredit her name and ministry, but expressed confidence that such efforts would not succeed.
Reports indicate that Apostle Okpe had earlier issued an apology for his remarks, a claim Anunobi referenced during a TikTok Live session where she described the situation as an embarrassment.
As at the time of filing, Apostle Okpe has not publicly responded to the latest legal action announced by Anunobi.
