GOODWILL MESSAGE TO NBA MAKURDI BRANCH ON THEIR 2026 LAW WEEK

I warmly congratulate the Chairman and distinguished members of the NBA Makurdi Branch on the occasion of your 2026 Law Week. This annual gathering continues to stand as a testament to your unity, commitment, and dedication to the advancement of our noble profession.

The theme, “The Legal Profession: Embracing the Future,” is not only apt but profoundly timely, particularly at this critical moment in our nation’s development and in the evolution of legal practice. We are living in a rapidly changing world, driven by technology, innovation, and shifting societal expectations. As legal practitioners, we must not only adapt but lead the way in shaping a future that preserves the integrity of our profession while expanding its relevance.

I strongly believe that the future of the Nigerian Bar lies in our collective willingness to rethink, retool, and reposition ourselves to meet emerging challenges. From improving access to justice, to leveraging technology, to strengthening professional welfare and ethical standards, we must embrace forward thinking solutions that will empower every lawyer, young and old alike.

My vision is of a Bar that truly works for all, where every member feels heard, valued, and supported; where opportunities are not limited by location or status; and where excellence is the standard we all uphold. I am committed to building a more inclusive, progressive, and responsive Association that reflects the aspirations of its members.

As you deliberate, connect, and celebrate during this Law Week, I encourage you to see yourselves as active contributors to the future we all desire. Together, we can build a Bar that is stronger, more innovative, and better positioned to serve society.

I wish you a successful and impactful Law Week.
