Eid-el-Maulud: Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe SAN Urges Lawyers to Embrace Prophet’s Virtues of Justice, Humility, and Service

As Muslims across the world celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe SAN, has called on legal practitioners to draw inspiration from the Prophet’s timeless values. He emphasized that virtues such as truth, fairness, humility, and justice remain not only central to Islam but also to the noble profession of law.

In his Eid-el-Maulud goodwill message, Akangbe urged members of the Bar to uphold these principles in their practice, noting that they align with the prophetic teachings of mercy and service to humanity. He further encouraged the legal community and Nigerians at large to use the season as an opportunity to strengthen bonds, show empathy to the needy, and recommit to building a nation anchored on peace, unity, and integrity

On this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, as we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we are reminded of his timeless legacy of truth, fairness, humility, and justice. These virtues remain not only central to our faith but also to the noble profession of law which we practice with diligence and honor.

Together, let us continue to uphold the values of our profession in line with the prophetic teachings of mercy, fairness, and service to humanity.

May this season inspire us to strengthen our bonds, show greater empathy to those in need and recommit ourselves to building a Bar and nation anchored on peace, unity and integrity.
