In line with its commitment to improving the capacity of its work force, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has organized a Two-day Training Programme for its Media Officers.
The programme, which held at the EFCC Academy, Abuja, between Tuesday, June 14, 2022 and Wednesday, June 15, 2022, was tailored towards honing the skills of the officers in news writing, news reporting, specialized reporting and public speaking.
Media officers across the fourteen (14) Zonal Commands of the EFCC were trained on contemporary trends in media engagements.
Declaring the programme open, Deputy Commandant, Administration, of the Academy, Joseph Ogwiji stated that, officers of the EFCC needed new knowledge and skills to optimize their productivity and for combating emerging crimes.
“This training is designed based on the training needs identified from your annual appraisals. It is aimed at improving your existing skills in order tpo add finesse and expertise to your work” he said.
On the training modules, one of the trainers and Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Dele Oyewale charged the trainees to be receptive to new developments in the media in the areas of reporting, perspective building, trends analysis and competitive engagements. “As media officers, see yourselves more as professionals that need to offer depths, insights and adequate information to the public. The EFCC is a good platform to maximize your potentials”, he said.
In a related development, officers drawn from various units of the Operations Department were also trained on digital banking operations, bank fraud investigation, e-fraud indicators, bank statements analysis, and financial statement analysis, among others.
