The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had its case against Senator Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, dismissed by the Federal Capital Territory High Court.
The court ruled that the charges of fraud and abuse of office brought by the EFCC were an abuse of the judicial process.
In delivering the judgement, Justice Yusuf Halilu, the presiding judge, based his decision on the fact that the EFCC had previously filed a similar charge against the former governor at the Federal High Court.
In December of the previous year, the case was resolved in favor of the former governor.
