EFCC Has No Fraud Case Against Me, Allegations Are Outlandish – Okowa

Former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa has publicly refuted allegations of corruption, stating that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not filed any charges against him. Okowa, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party, clarified through his media aide, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, that he voluntarily went to the EFCC office in Port Harcourt to address allegations made in recent petitions.

According to the statement, the claims involve accusations of diverting N1.3 trillion in oil derivation funds and acquiring stakes in Premium Trust Bank using state resources. Okowa described these allegations as unfounded and stemming from “malicious, prejudiced” individuals.

He emphasized that the EFCC has not established any fraudulent case against him and that his decision to cooperate with the agency reflects his clear conscience on the matter.
